A City Club LA Wedding

Cassandra and Elmer held their breath waiting to see how their dream wedding would pan out. Ten guests, or 100, these two were determined to be married on June 27, 2020. It was amazing to see this genuine, beautiful couple roll with the punches of getting married during a pandemic. They were positive, and easy-going. They knew the most important thing was the outcome of their wedding day—becoming Mr. and Mrs.! After a last-minute venue change in order to accommodate their approximately 100 guest list, things finally came together for the happy pair.

In one of the most personal services we’ve seen Cassandra and Elmer were married in Hacienda Heights at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church. The church welcomed them, happy to be hosting their first wedding ceremony since the outbreak. Making everyone feel safe guests were seated throughout the church. Cassandra’s brother was the priest, a detail that made their Catholic ceremony even more special. The service was beautiful and heartfelt.

I know we say this a lot but again, our favorite moment is the first look, in Cassandra’s case it was with her father and her son. Both had the biggest smiles on their faces when they saw the elegant bride who means so much to them. It’s super sweet seeing the relationship between Cassandra and her grown son; we can only hope to have the same relationships with our sons.

For wedding portraits, we headed to the Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. What a fun, gorgeous backdrop full of reflection and light. When it was time to head to the City Club LA, the wedding party rode in style on a big bus complete with a pole for dancing!

The reception was held in a ballroom at City Club LA, overlooking downtown Los Angeles. In an exciting, yet sweet moment during the reception Elmer sat Cassandra down for the garter dance; but instead of pulling the garter he surprised her by washing her feet. The feet washing ceremony is a Christian tradition, which represents Jesus washing the feet of his disciples, as a symbol of love and humility. After her feet were clean and Elmer’s love for Cassandra even more apparent, he got back to the task at hand. With a big smile Elmer removed Cassandra’s garter belt and the party continued on!

This group knew how to celebrate and it was well deserved after their struggle to get to this day. We are so happy Cassandra and Elmer found one another. We wish them a lifetime of happiness!
